Citrus Lane Box January 2014!

Time for our monthly Citrus Lane review! ¬†ūüôā

I have aged Saraphina’s box up one full year after being a little bit disappointed in a few of her previous boxes. ¬†Now, that’s not to say her boxes weren’t great! ¬†The problem is when I compared her box to some of the other boxes that I saw on the Citrus Lane Facebook page. ¬†Hehe! ¬†Rather than be envious of the older boxes, I decided to just age her up and honestly, I have been very happy with the aged up boxes! ¬†That said, here is a quick peek at our January 2014 Citrus Lane box!

cljan14

*Zig Zag Zebra Coloring Book from Barefoot Books (estimated value: $6.29)

Super cute book this month that is no ordinary coloring book!  The interactive pages have your little one adding their mad artistic skillz to the cute activity pages.  Every page is full color and sturdy, making this book not feel at all like a simple coloring book, which it most definitely is not!  Very fun way to introduce drawing and shapes and even colors to the little kids.

*Duo Tip Washable Markers from Faber-Castel (estimated value: $4.99)

These awesome markers have a colored tip on each side, one wide and one fine, plus they are made from food grade vegetable dyes, so when they inevitably get on your child’s clothes, the stains easily wash out! ¬†Yay! ¬†These are a perfect companion to the coloring book!

*Fruit Set from Plan Toys (estimated value: $8)

This set was exclusively made for Citrus Lane, so I estimated the price by looking up a larger, 6 piece set that was $16. ¬†These super cute fruits are made from wood and Velcro, so you can “slice” them with the included play knife for fun pretend kitchen play. ¬†My kids LOVE cooking with pretend food! ¬†We have had lots of play food over the years, and wood is definitely the way to go! ¬†The plastic play foods get smashed and unrecognizable, and the little cardboard boxes? ¬†Yeah, they don’t last ten minutes in our crazy house. ¬†We have been slowly replacing all the old smooshed stuff with wooden pieces, so this set was an exciting addition! ¬†It’s also fun to “slice” the food and get that satisfying crunch from the Velcro! ¬†ūüôā

*Upset Tummy & Nausea Relief from Mommy’s Bliss (estimated value: $10.49)

This is perfect to have on hand!!! ¬†I noticed a lot of moms saying they had no use for this item, just wait until their kids get their first case of the stomach flu! ¬†Trust and believe, this is a must have for the medicine cabinet! ¬†All ingredients are completely natural and 100% vegetarian/vegan with no gluten, dairy, soy or sugar. ¬†Even if it’s just a queasy tummy from motion sickness, indigestion or gas, it’s nice to know you have something ready to go to ease your little one’s discomfort. ¬†Yes, yes, yes, I love it!

So ends another awesome month of Citrus Lane!  If you are totally jelly and wishing you had your very own box of goodies delivered right to your door each month, carefully curated just for your child, then click HERE and give Citrus Lane a try!  Shipping is always free, and you get an awesome array of goodies each month specifically for your child’s age.  Use coupon code FEBHALFOFF to get 50% off your February box!

December Citrus Lane Box!

December is a crazy month for everyone! ¬†That is my official excuse for not posting this in a timely manner. ¬†ūüôā

Citrus Lane’s theme for December was “A few of our favorite things”. ¬†The box was jam packed with some great goodies! ¬†Shall we begin?

cld1

As always, each month includes an insert that gives you all the details of the items in the box, the websites to find the products, and very often, an exclusive savings code so you can stock up on even more of the awesome items.

cld2

This month’s box came was a bit larger than usual because it had a big toy inside of it!

cld3

Green Toys Airplane $14.99

Totally eco friendly, totally made from recycled materials (milk jugs to be exact!) and totally awesome!  The Green Toys ariplane is a perfect imagination toy for both boys and girls alike!  All of the Green Toys items are made very sturdy, ready for lots of play time with even the littlest, perhaps roughest, of little pilots!  A total hit in our house, sound effects not included, but easily and very happily provided by the happy kiddos!

cld4

Pearhead Brag Book $8.95

This is not a flimsy, cheap little brag book!  This is a hardcover, sturdily made book, perfect for a grandparent gift or just filling and keeping for yourself!  My kids love to spend time looking through photo albums, so this would even be a perfect book to fill with photos for the kids to look through whenever their little hearts desire.  Very cute and easily personalized!

cld5

GoGo Squeez Fruit Pouch $1.29

Yummy, easy, real food snack that is great to stash away in purses, diaper bags, you name it.  All of my kids love to eat snacks from pouches, from 10 years old all the way down to my 1 year old.  It is an easy, mess free way to give a healthy snack on the go and offers at least a few minutes of quiet time while the kids are snacking away!

cld6

Renee & Jeremy It’s A Big World CD $12.00

Okay, as a mama with little ones, my house is filled with all sorts of kid songs that can get…..annoying. ¬†Admit it, character voices get old fast! ¬†This CD, Rene & Jeremy as artists in general, just amazing! ¬†Calming, soothing, mellow, happy, just GOOD. ¬†They have a bit of a hippie/folkie vibe that I have to admit, I love. ¬†You can check out their website for samples of their songs. ¬†Watch out though, they are amazingly addictive!

cld7

Madecasse 75% Cocoa Mini Chocolate Bar $1.50

This was an added special little treat just for the mamas (or daddys!) this month. ¬†I love getting small little things for me in the boxes, and you can’t go wrong with chocolate, am I right? ¬†This particular chocolate was very dark and very bold, as the label suggests. ¬†Not for everyone’s taste buds, but still a very nice little treat!

cld8

Ecomom Gift Voucher $15

Ecomom is a website with an amazing variety of awesome, eco friendly items, both for the kids and for mom (or dad, lets not forget the papis!)  This voucher is good for $15 towards ANYTHING your heart desires on their site!  What a generous gift!  The hardest thing about that, is picking one thing to use it on!  I am an Ecomom regular, I have no doubt that everyone will be able to find an amazing deal to use this voucher on!

Have you fallen in love with Citrus Lane yet?!  I am being 100% honest when I tell you that it is something we look forward to each and every month!  We are constantly being introduced to new, awesome products and companies.  We use all of our Citrus Lane goodies regularly, and often have impressed mamas asking us where we got this or that.

I have said it before, I will say it again.  I think Citrus Lane is an awesome value and it definitely costs less than a quick trip to Target (or any store) for this mama.  They have exciting things planned for the coming year, so now is a great time to join the Citrus Lane community!

September Citrus Lane Box!

It’s mid September, and that means it’s time for our monthly Citrus Lane box! ¬†For those who don’t yet know the awesomeness of Citrus Lane, basically it is a monthly subscription service, curated to your little one(s) from newborn to age 3. ¬†Each month is centered on a theme, and the boxes are filled with fun, age appropriate goodies from brands that you may not have known about before.

This month’s theme is “Animal Parade”.

Sara was eager, as always, to dig right in!

Included in every box is an insert that tells you more about each of the items and often includes Citrus Lane exclusive coupon codes and offers from the featured companies.

It also includes the websites to the brands, so you can look up even more cool products that they may have to offer.

Green Sprouts Long Sleeve Bib $20.00

Have you ever dreaded meal time because of the inevitable mess that would explode as your toddler fed him or herself? ¬†Yeah, me too. ¬†Heck, half the time, we strip them down to the diapers, knowing that they will end up wearing most of their dinner. ¬†This bib is waterproof, has a velcro closure to stay in place and it even has a flip pocket to catch anything that would otherwise slide down into baby’s lap. ¬†Oh yes, this ranks high on the awesome meter!

HappyBaby Happy Tot Pouch $1.75

Bib firmly in place, now let’s eat! ¬†HappyBaby makes yummy organic food pouches that are easy to store, easy to carry and easy for little ones to feed themselves with. ¬†The pouch is BPA free and has a resealable top for preserving any leftovers. ¬†This pouch is long gone, Sara loved it.

It’s like she’s anticipating the mess she is going to make with that fruit pouch. ¬†What a thoughtful girl!

BabyGanics Toy & Table Cleaner $3.99

This item was in another box a month or two ago, but let me tell you, it is great to have several! ¬†I like to keep one in the diaper bag, and now I have one next to the high chair. ¬†This cleaner is paraben, sulfates and pthalates free, a perfect way to clean baby’s highchair tray at home or on the go. ¬†It is also handy for wiping down restaurant tables, or anything that you want to make sure is nice and clean before your baby decides to gnaw on it.

I think Sara approves of her cute little puppy bath sponge!

Rich Frog Tub Sponge $5.95

Bathtime will be even more fun with this adorable little puppy dog sponge! ¬†It has a very soft terry cloth covering that is soft on baby’s skin, a handy dandy loop to hang it to dry, and it stays afloat in the tub, so it is always easy to find and play with!

The cuteness of this book is almost too much!

InnovativeKids Faces Book $6.99

This book, as you saw, opens up to several, adorable and fun masks!  Talk about making reading fun!  This book was hugely giggle inducing for the whole family.  What a fun idea, we love it!

Try out your very own subscription to Citrus Lane by clicking¬†HERE. ¬†Once you follow that link, enter coupon code 10TODAY to save 10%. ¬† ¬†When you subscribe for a full year, they also give you two months free. ¬†Who doesn’t love free?!

We love Citrus Lane in our home. ¬†As I have said before, the value of the products each month for the small price paid is just fabulous. ¬†And much cheaper than a ‚Äúquick‚ÄĚ trip to Target for me. ¬†I love being introduced to new brands and companies, and we have loved everything we have gotten so far.

June Citrus Lane Box!

Well, it’s that magical time of the month again! ¬†No, not that magical time…. ¬†It’s time for another Citrus Lane Box! ¬†Yay!

Sara hears noise coming from her box this month, so she is trying to rip that package open asap!

The June theme is “Little Artist”.

Look at all those goodies! ¬†Well, let’s dive right in and see what we got!

Every box starts with a little piece of paper, giving you a little overview of what to expect for this month and then going over each product individually, telling you where to find more and often offering exclusive discounts and coupon codes just for subscribers.

Next we see our Putumayo 2012 Playground Sampler CD, valued at $5.00.

This CD offers up some new music with styles from all over the world for you and you kiddos to boogie and sing along with. ¬†Bonus, it’s not Barney or Wiggles! ¬†Now, come on, sure, we all love Barney and the Wiggles are great, but it is so nice to have something new to listen to for a change! ¬†And this sampler also tells you exactly which albums and artists these tracks are from, so you can easily pick up more non Barney/Wiggles music to listen to from time to time. ¬†My kids love to dance, even little Saraphina, so music is a big win in our casa!

Babyganics Toy & Table Cleaner $3.99

This is going straight into my diaper bag! ¬†This is a safe, nontoxic cleaner, no parabens, sulfates, and no phthalates, that you can use for quick, easy clean ups. ¬†I am planning on using it for out and about, you know like at a restaurant where the table or high chair is iffy, or even a quick spray to the shopping cart handle. ¬†Having four babies, I know that if there is any way at all that the kid can get his or her mouth on something, it’s going to happen. ¬†And with this awesome spray, at least I know that they will be chewing and drooling on a clean surface. ¬†That is awesome in my book.

It looks like Sara found something delicious…

Wee Can Too Veggie Art Kit $19.99

Well, it is made from veggies, and Sara is a girl that loves her veggies… ¬†This art kit is eco-friendly, organic, and completely edible. ¬†Which is good, because Sara already got a head start… ¬†Made from real veggies, these crayons and finger paints are a safe way for baby to have her very first go at a little masterpiece. ¬†Since I have a whole gaggle of babies here, I think this would be an awesome project for all of them to partake in. ¬†Outside. ¬†Where they can get hosed down afterwards. ¬†But seriously, getting messy is fun, and I can not wait to try these out!

Minted $35 credit.

Wow!  So, included in our box this month is an offer for a $35 credit to Minted.  This is a site where you can find invitations, birth announcements, stationary, art prints and more.  Their stuff is just gorgeous!  Pricey, but gorgeous!  Here is a thrifty tip for those wondering what to score at a good deal with their gift credit.  They have beautiful journals for $16.  Now, my head races with all sorts of awesome ideas to do with those journals!  First of all, journal in them!  Not your thing?  Have your kids journal!  They can write about their day, write stores, draw pictures.  Use it as a thankful journal as a family.  Write down five things that you are thankful for each and every day.  Gift them!  I think they would make beautiful, thoughtful gifts for teachers or tweens or teens, or anyone really.  When your mind is open, the possibilities are endless!

Another thing you can do, is click HERE, and use this referral credit for $25 added to your account. ¬†Stack those two together and now you’re cooking!

Pop & Lolli Decal

I’m not sure how to value this one, except I can say that when I saw this adorable owl decal, I squealed with joy! ¬†These decals are made from fabric, they are beautiful, reusable, and even recyclable! ¬†Though, how you could part with any, I’ll never know! ¬†Want to know something else completely awesome about this company? ¬†With every set purchased, Pop & Lolli will provide educational materials and resources to a South African child in need. ¬†Ummm……win-win, am I right? ¬†Love it!

Hohner Kids Musical Instruments $7-$10

Last but not least, this month’s box contained a little baby tambourine so Sara can get her little groove on while she dances to her new cd. ¬†This is what was making noise in her box that made her especially excited to rip it open! ¬†This musical instrument collection is completely BPA and phthalate free, and I have to say, their packaging was minimal and very easy to get the toy out of. ¬†Thank you for that, Hohner Kids! ¬†So, on the one hand, Sara has this awesome, very well made, great quality musical instrument to play with and really spark her creativity with, thank you Citrus Lane! ¬†On the other hand, Sara has a tambourine. ¬†Thank you Citrus Lane? ¬†This is a sometimes toy. ¬†Mostly because of Sara’s siblings that like to shake it as loud and as hard as possible to see which kid gets ringing in the ears first. ¬†Fun times!

So have you been tallying up the value of this box?  I come to roughly $70.  Holyawesomedeal Batman!  The regular price for this awesome subscription service is $25 including shipping, and as you can see by the value of this box, the contents far exceed that $25!  But I can help you save even more!

Try out your very own subscription to Citrus Lane by clicking HERE.  Once you follow that link, enter coupon code 20TODAY.  This will save you $15 on a 3 month subscription, $25 on a 6 month subscription, or $50 on a 12 month subscription.  When you subscribe for a full year, they also give you two months free.

We love Citrus Lane in our home. ¬†As I have said before, the value of the products each month for the small price paid is just fabulous. ¬†And much cheaper than a “quick” trip to Target for me. ¬†I love being introduced to new brands and companies, and we have loved everything we have gotten so far, four months into our subscription.

April Citrus Lane Box!

Speaking of splurging on my babies, let’s talk about Citrus Lane.

I discovered this company through a Facebook sidebar ad. ¬†It was advertised as a “monthly care package for moms and babies”. ¬†Intrigued, I clicked the link and instantly fell in love with the idea.

I love to get mail. ¬†Who doesn’t? ¬†(That’s my Saraphina in the pictures, by the way. ¬†I think this may be her blog debut. ¬†Let the “awwws” begin.) ¬†I also love surprises, and essentially, the idea of Citrus Lane is to surprise their subscribers with items of the month’s theme.

Citrus Lane was founded by a mom.  While preparing for her first baby, she researched and asked everyone she knew about which baby products were the very best.  The idea behind the company is to provide moms with new and innovative products and companies that they may not have discovered on their own.  There is an emphasis on natural and organic products, which I think even the less than crunchy moms (soggy moms unite!) can appreciate.

Saraphina thinks the yummy, yellow tissue paper is the best part.

This month’s theme is Bed & Bathtime Fun. ¬†Each month, you receive 4 – 5 products that coordinate with the monthly theme. ¬†The boxes are specifically chosen for your baby’s developmental age, from newborn to three years old. ¬†My box pictured here is for Saraphina, who is 9 months old.

As you can see, the ducks caught her eye right away.

These are the Green Sprouts Stacking Duck Set, BPA and PVC free.  How super cute are they?  I love the colors and they are fun to chew on.  (Sara told me.)  These are great for in the tub or out.  Citrus Lane includes a price list of their items to give you an idea of the value of their boxes.  These are valued by Citrus Lane at $9.99.

“Ducks or book…which should I chew on first?”

The delicious looking book is “I’ll See You In The Morning” by Mike Jolly. ¬†It is a bright and beautiful board book following the bedtime theme. ¬†I love the fact that is an actual story to read, not just a word or two per page, like a lot of board books tend to be. ¬†We can sit and read this one, letting Sara turn the pages without worrying about a page tearing. ¬†Thumbs up from me. ¬†Citrus Lane valued this at $6.99.

Branam All Natural Xylitol Tooth Paste $7.99

This month’s box included a boo boo that actually worked in my favor. ¬†They were supposed to send me tooth gel for Sara, but I got the toothpaste by mistake. ¬†They are sending a replacement gel for Sara, but in the mean time, Isabella was out of her SLS free toothpaste and this just so happens to be SLS free! ¬†*happy dance*

In case you don’t know what SLS is, it stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which is used in many toothpastes and shampoos, etc for sudsing and emulsifying. ¬†It is, as we have come to find out, a nasty chemical that in Bella’s case, does more harm than good. ¬†She was constantly getting painful, bloody canker sores in her mouth that left her crying and unable to eat. ¬†When we asked our dentist about it, he happened to suggest using SLS free toothpaste for her. ¬†Since the switch, not a single canker sore has returned! ¬†This poor baby was getting them regularly, and it was from her toothpaste! ¬†Yes, that was a guilty mama moment. ¬†But honestly, we put our trust into companies not to harm us or our children, so how are we to know that they would include nasty, toxic chemicals? ¬†Live and learn.

Seventh Generation Natural Hand Wash $3.49

This is a big bottle of hand soap. ¬†And it smells wonderful! ¬†It is fresh and citrusy, I think it just may find a home in Mama’s bano, instead of the kiddos….

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel For Sensitive Skin Deluxe Sample

Citrus Lane likes to throw in little samples for the mamas, and that is an awesome, much appreciated extra. ¬†This month’s sample is an organic peel from Juice Beauty. ¬†I have not tried it yet, but I have smelled it. ¬†Meh. ¬†To me, it smells like the rotting apples on the ground when you are visiting the local orchard for your yearly apple picking trip. ¬†I’m not ungrateful in any way, and I appreciate it and will definitely be trying it, but the smell is a bit off putting for me personally. ¬†Maybe you enjoy smelling like rotten apples, to each his (or her) own.

Also included in every box is an insert, giving you details about your goodies, exclusive coupon codes and where to find the items, along with general tips for the month’s theme. ¬†This month there was also a $15 gift card for ecomom.com, a discount for chroniclebooks.com, and a special offer from Juice Beauty.

I feel like Citrus Lane is an awesome deal, I get my money’s worth and then some. ¬†This was our second box and I am very pleased. ¬†When I signed up, I subscribed for an entire year, which I felt gave me the very best value. ¬†Each box is $25 with free shipping. ¬†When I signed up for 12 months and added a coupon code, I ended up only spending about $16 per box. ¬†This month, that was practically the value of the gift card alone! ¬†I love discovering the new brands, I love the surprise package in the mail each month, and I love the products.

If you want to give Citrus Lane a try yourself, go HERE and then enter coupon code 20TODAY. ¬†That will save you $15 on a 3 month subscription, $25 on a 6 month subscription, or $50 on a 12 month subscription. ¬†When you subscribe for a full year, they also give you two months free. ¬†Oh yes, Mama loves a deal. ¬†And $16 a month is far less damage than I could do on a “quick” trip to Target.

Chew ALL the things!

Citrus Lane has not paid me or asked me to write this review, nor have they provided me with any boxes or products. ¬†(But hey, Citrus Lane, if you wanna, I am game! ) ¬†I just think this service is awesome and wanted to share. ¬†I’m cool like that.
